█ 在CNN的這篇文章中，他說：
不要以為你孩子的成績是全 A ，就以為他／她得到了好的教育。實際上，很多時候，是壞老師最容易讓學生過關，因為他們知道給好成績不會有人來找麻煩。家長會說：我孩子的老師很棒！他今年全拿A。
You shouldn't assume that because your child makes straight A's that he/she is getting a good education. The truth is, a lot of times it's the bad teachers who give the easiest grades, because they know by giving good grades everyone will leave them alone. Parents will say, "My child has a great teacher! He made all A's this year!"
• He made all A’s, a child makes straight A’s：學生的成績全是A
• grade：評分，分數 (名詞)
give the easiest grades給最容易的分數，也就是很容易過關 (把關不嚴)
give good grades給好成績，打高分
►注意：grade 這個字有好幾種意思，查字典的時候，要根據這裡的上下文，找出合適的解釋：

※切記不要死記介係詞，知道in或on都可以就好了。
• leave someone alone：不來甘擾某人 (片語)
Everyone will leave them alone. 每個人都不來干擾他們，也就是他們不會有麻煩。
By giving good grades, everyone will leave them alone. 給了好成績，大家都不會來打擾老師
Please leave me alone 請不要干擾我。
█ 別以為是這樣！老實說，跟你所想的不一樣，通常是最好的老師才會給最低的分數，因為他們對學生的期望提高。然而，當你的孩子拿不到高分，你就想到校長室去抱怨。
Wow. Come on now. In all honesty, it's usually the best teachers who are giving the lowest grades, because they are raising expectations. Yet, when your children receive low scores you want to complain and head to the principal's office.
• Wow：是驚嘆詞！表達驚訝
• Come on now：也是驚嘆語氣，表示：不相信！
► I don’t believe this這裡指前面說的： My child has a great teacher. He made all A's this year! 是不可信的說法。就因為孩子拿了A，就表示老師好，這是不可信的說法。
• In all honesty：事實如此，即使不是大家所預期的 (片語)
• raise expectations ：提高期望值 (片語)
█ 今天，新老師留在教書行業的平均時間只有4.5年，很多老師把家長問題列為
放棄離職的理由之一。
Today, new teachers remain in our profession an average of just 4.5 years, and many of them list "issues with parents" as one of their reasons for throwing in the towel.
• average：平均值 (名詞)
an average of just 4.5 years
• list：列出清單 (動詞)
• issue：在此要理解為「 麻煩」或「令人憂心」的問題(可數名詞)
issues with parents 跟家長有不好配合，令人頭痛的問題
• throw in the towel：承認失敗，放棄，不再努力 (片語)
